Garcia Santos Captures Quarterfinal Win at ITA Small College Championships

MOBILE, Ala. - Drury senior Antonio Garcia Santos opened play at the ITA National Small College Championships with a 7-6 (6),6-2 quarterfinal win over West Virginia Wesleyan's Marc Rosner at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center on Thursday.

Garcia Santos will play the tournament's No. 1 seed Philip Pakebusch of Valdosta State tomorrow in the semifinals at 8:30 a.m.  Pakebusch defeated Rafael Array of Armstrong Atlantic 6-1,7-6. 

Saturday's D-II singles champion and the winners of the D-III, NAIA and Juco singles draws will come together for Sunday's Super Bowl to determine the overall champion.

Groover, a freshman, captured the high jump at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Kenosha, Wis.

Plemmons, a redshirt freshman, registered her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in just 16 minutes of playing time to help Drury beat Quincy in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals Sunday at Weiser.
