Drury strengthened its Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball post-season tournament hopes by picking up a 3-0 victory over Saint Joseph's on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Weiser Gym.
The Panthers moved to 15-12 overall and 7-5 in the GLVC, remaining in a tie for sixth place in the league standings with Southern Indiana. The top eight teams after next weekend's final two matches of regular season GLVC competition will advance the following week to the GLVC Tournament.
Saint Joseph's slipped to 12-17 overall and 6-6 in the league.
The Panthers won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-11 and 25-19. Junior Kyrie Hopkins led the way with 15 kills and a .609 percentage, while junior Austin Warren added 40 assists. Senior Rachel Warrington had 22 digs, as one of three seniors - joining Krystal Glessner and Brianne Holtkamp, honored in pre-game ceremonies.
Coach Ashleigh Shear's Panthers will finish the GLVC regular season next weekend at Lewis on Friday (7 p.m.) and Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday (3 p.m.).
