DU Women's Golfers In 10th Place After Opening Round Of ORU Shootout

TULSA, Okla. - Drury University's women's golf squad sits in 10th place after posting a 323 total in the opening round of the Bob Hurley Auto/Oral Roberts Shootout Monday at the Meadowbrook Golf Club.

Sam Houston State leads the team competition with a 309 total, one stroke ahead of Oklahoma City University in the 13-team field.

Sophomore Katrina Choate fired a 78 and is tied for 19th to lead the Panthers. Junior Susan Allen posted an 80 and is tied for 28th; sophomore Aubree Vaughan had an 82 and is tied for 39th; senior Katie Wilburn is tied for 44th after an 83; and senior Allison Rasnick shot an 85 and is tied for 58th.

Senior Cortney Shewmaker, competing as an individual, posted a 90 and is tied for 67th.

Rebecca Sorensen of Central Arkansas is the individual leader with an even-par 72 in the meet, which concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Plemmons, a redshirt freshman, registered her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in just 16 minutes of playing time to help Drury beat Quincy in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals Sunday at Weiser.
