The Drury men's soccer Panthers have climbed one spot to No. 3 nationally in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division II poll released on Tuesday.
The Panthers (18-1-0) also maintained their stronghold on the No. 1 ranking in the NCAA-II's official Midwest Region rankings; the top four teams in the region at the conclusion of this week will earn berths in the 32-team field for the NCAA-II Tournament. Drury is ahead of Ashland, Lewis, Northern Kentucky and Bellarmine in the regional poll.
Four of those five top teams in the region will be competing this weekend at Harrison Stadium in Springfield as the Panthers play host to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinals and finals.
Top-seed Drury will take on fifth-seeded Bellarmine (11-5-1) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, preceded by No. 2 seed Northern Kentucky (15-4-1) playing No. 3 seed Lewis (13-3-1) at 5 p.m. Friday's winners will meet at noon on Sunday at Harrison for the GLVC Tournament championship.
