The Drury women's golf team has bolstered its 2010-11 roster with the signing of Jessica Dillard, Morgan Lamberson and Lauren Michael to NCAA letters-of-intent to join coach Lisa Tinkler's Panthers.
Dillard is from Springfield's Kickapoo High School, Lamberson is from Marshall and Michael from Jenks, Okla.
Dillard was a four-time state tournament qualifier for Kickapoo who finished seventh overall as a sophomore in 2007, helping the Lady Chiefs to a runner-up state finish in 2007 and '08. She won a pair of individual championships in prep events this fall for KHS.
Lamberson was medalist in five of the six tournaments she competed in this past fall. In the state championships, she's earned all-state status the past three years after finishing 12th as a sophomore (Class 2), seventh as a junior and third as a senior, the latter two in Class 1. She's earned all-NCMC honors each of her four seasons, capturing the league title the past two years, and has earned all-district status four times. Her recent summer resume' included a sixth-place finish in the Missouri Women's Golf Association Junior Championships and a fourth in the Four-State Championships.
Michael has never finished out of the Top 10 in a high school tournament, including a 10th-place finish as a sophomore and a fourth-place finish last year at the Oklahoma state championships, where she led Jenks to the team title and earned her squad's MVP honors. She has earned All-Frontier Conference honors each of the past two seasons and was the league's Co-Player of the Year last season. Michael, a member of the AJGA Tour, has been a Tulsa World All-Metro honoree each of the past two seasons as well.
"With the departure of a large class of seniors after this spring, I am very pleased that, with the early signing this fall of Lauren, Morgan and Jessica, we will not miss a beat," Tinkler says. "And their academic prowess should help us reach a team goal of Top 25 academic team status."
Tinkler's DU squad is ranked seventh nationally in D-II entering the spring season after a fall in which they posted two second-place finishes and a third place in their five tournaments.
