The Drury University men's cross country team had three members named to the 2008 NCAA-II USTFCCCA All-Academic Team today. Panthers Derek Berry, Geoff Hughes and Jaime Villa Zapatero earned honors for their outstanding academic success this season.
The 2008 team consists of 138 male student-athletes and had 68 institutions represented. Christian Brothers, Slippery Rock and Western State College of Colorado had the most with five each. In order to earn recognition for academic all-america team honors an individual must have completed 12 semester/quarter hours, have a 3.25 grade point average and placed in the top 30% of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships or be in the top 50% of the field at the NCAA-II Cross Country Championships.
