Drury pounded Wisconsin-Parkside pitching for a combined 41 runs and 41 hits in a doubleheader sweep of the Rangers to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play Sunday afternoon at Meador Park.
The Panthers, in squaring their record at 8-8 overall and moving to 2-0 in GLVC play won the opener 19-9 before adding a 22-4 win in seven innings in the nightcap.
In the nine-inning opener, Drury amassed an 11-1 lead through three innings in coasting to the victory. The first five hitters in the Panthers' batting order - Dane Hughes, Kendall Findley, R.J. Knese, Joel Potts and Joe Rohlfing - each accounted for three hits, with Knese homering and driving in four.
Tyler Wright also had four RBIs on his two hits for DU, which got four runs each from Knese and Findley.
Stephen Bloss (1-2) picked up the victory, allowing nine hits and six earned runs in his five innings of work.
In the nightcap, Jason Hall went 4-for-4 with five RBIs and Bret Gallion, Rohlfing and Hughes had three hits apiece to lead the Panthers, who answered a three-run first by the Rangers (4-11, 0-3) by scoring four, nine and four runs in the first three innings to grab a 17-4 advantage.
Harrison Waters settled down after the shakey start to allow eight hits and four runs in his four innings to improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Panthers are scheduled to play Pittsburg State in a non-conference single nine-inning game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
