Rich Kemper, who recently completed his two-year stint as graduate assistant coach at Drury, has been named an assistant basketball coach for the men's program at South Plains College.
Kemper will start his duties immediately for Coach Steve Green's highly successful squad at South Plains, an NJCAA member located in Levelland, Texas. The Texans, national junior college champions in 2007-2008, finished 18-11 last season.
"I want to thank Drury University and Coach Hesser for a great opportunity these past two years," Kemper said. "I picked up valuable coaching experience in my time with the Panthers and will always cherish my time with the program and the university."
Kemper, a St. Louis native, was part of head coach Steve Hesser's Drury staff that guided the Panthers to a 23-7 overall record, a Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division title and a fourth NCAA-II Tournament appearance in the past five years. He also coached previously at NAIA member St. Gregory's.
