Drury Baseball has bolstered its roster for the 2010-11 school year with the addition of three players to the Panthers' squad.

Joining DU are Cole Faulconer, a 5-foot-10, 155-pound middle-infielder from Briarcrest Christian High School in Memphis, Tenn.; Corey Wiley, a 6-0, 190-pound right-handed pitcher from St. Charles Community College (and formerly of Ozark High School); and Phillip Bodenshatz, a 6-3, 180-pound right-handed pitcher from Eureka (Mo.) High School.

Faulconer hit .402 last spring and was a three-time All-Region selection, earning All-Metro honors in Memphis as a senior, when he was captain of a squad he helped lead to the state's final four.

"Cole will add some great athleticism and another speedy, left-handed hitting bat to our roster," Drury coach Mark Stratton says. "He is another highly academic kid who will depth as we attempt to replace our (graduated) infield. Playing at such a high level in high school ball will help him immediately at our level."

Wiley posted a 5-0 record with a 0.91 earned run average in 46 innings this past summer in the IMG Wood Bat League. At Ozark, he hit .452 as a senior on a team that finished 25-5 and won a state championship.

"Corey is a local kid who will immediately fit in with our kids and see lots of innings in the Fall," Stratton says.

Bodenshatz finished with a 4-3 record in 32 innings as a senior at Eureka, posting a 3.00 ERA with 23 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .224 batting average.

"Phillip will give us added depth on the mound and will compete for a starting or relieving spot vacated by last year's large senior class," Stratton said. "He has a chance to become a great college arm for us and we are excited to add him to our pitching staff."

Drury lost 15 seniors of a squad that finished 26-23 last season and advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference eight-team post-season tournament field for the second time in the program's four years of existence.
