Panther Golfers Tie For Second, Funk Third At Missouri Intercollegiate

SUNRISE BEACH - The Drury men's golf team finished in a tie for second, led by senior Andrew Funk's tie for third individually, as the Missouri Intercollegiate tourney came to a close Wednesday at The Club At Porto Cima.

After a 307 on Wednesday, Drury finished with a 606 total, tied with Missouri-St. Louis for second and 15 shots behind winner Central Missouri (298-293 591) in the 18-team field of Missouri college squads.

Funk fired a 4-over-par 76 and finished with a 148 total, one stroke behind co-medalists Matt Miller and Ryan Kloeppel of Central Missouri. Miller had a 69 and Kloeppel a 76 in the final round.

Sophomore Shawn Vanderwal (74-78 152) finished in a tie for 15th for the Panthers, while senior Thomas Hay (76-78 154) and freshman Jon Fulp (77-78 155) tied for 25th.

Drury returns to action in the Great Lakes Valley Region Shootout Sept. 20-21 in Southhaven, Mich.
