Drury picked to win GLVC West in preseason poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Lady Panthers are picked to win the West Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference in the GLVC preseason coaches' poll.

Drury received 66 points and 13 first-place votes and finished ahead of second place Truman State, who received 55 points in the poll.

The 15-team GLVC will be split into three divisions this season. Southern Indiana was picked to win the East Division and Maryville was received the most points in the poll for the Central Division.

10 of the league's 15 teams received a first-place vote to win their respective division.

The three division winners and five at-large teams with the best conference records will advance to the eight-team GLVC Championship Tournament in Edwardsville, Illinois on March 1-4.

The Lady Panthers are the defending conference champions. Drury went 30-4, 17-1 in the GLVC and were winners of the conference tournament in 2017.

The Lady Panthers play tonight in their final exhibition game of the preseason. Drury hosts Lindenwood-Belleville at 6 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. The Lady Panthers start the regular season on Nov. 10 at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville.
