Finished a stellar career as the Drury all-time leader for RBIs with 164, total bases with 388, doubles 50 and stolen base attempts 58 ....Is ranked second all-time in each of the following categories: hits 275, batting average .355, triples 15, home runs 11, runs 171, slugging percentage .501 and stolen bases 45...Is tied for fourth all-time with 58 walks...Had a career best 16 game hitting streak in both 2011 and 2010...Earned Second Team All-GLVC honors his final two seasons and was a Third Team All-GLVC selection as a freshman...Earned Midwest Region Gold Glove honors as a junior and ABCA Second Team All-Midwest Region Honors as a senior...Broke the Drury record for most hits in a game with six and most doubles with four vs. Illinois-Springfield on April 22, 2011...Matched the record for home runs in a game with two vs. Missouri-St. Louis on April 29, 2011...His 77 hits in 2009, 21 doubles in 2011 rank first all-time for a season...Also matched the season RBI record with 46 in 2011, his 48 runs scored in 2009 tie him for most ever in a season as well as his three stolen bases at Missouri S&T on April 4, 2009...Has matched the Drury record of three walks in a game twice coming vs. Arkansas Tech on March 7, 2010 and at Missouri-St. Louis on March 21, 2008.
SENIOR
An ABCA Second Team All-Midwest Region Honoree and a Second Team All-GLVC selection, R.J. set a Drury record for most hits and most doubles in a game vs. Illinois-Springfield on April 22 with six hits and four doubles...Posted a Drury record and led the GLVC with 21 doubles on the year which ranked 16th best in the nation...Matched a Drury single game record with two homers vs. Missouri-St. Louis on April 29 and his four homers tied him for fifth most in a season...His 46 RBIs matched a Drury single season high...Had five RBIs in the Missouri-St. Louis game on April 29 which matched the second most by a Panther in a game...His 108 total bases were second most by a Panther in a season and tied him for second most in the GLVC...Had five triples which ranks third most for a season and was second most in the GLVC... Had 200 at bats which was fourth most for a year by a Panther...Had a 16 game hitting streak which ranked fourth longest by a Panther...Hit .325 for the season and had a .540 slugging percentage and a .392 on base percentage in 200 at bats...Earned GLVC Player of the Week honors for the week of May 9...One of just five players in the GLVC to have a 1.000 fielding percentage and led Drury with 246 putouts...Had a season high two walks at Oakland City on April 3 and vs. Washburn on February 27.
JUNIOR
R.J. earned Second Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors and was named to the Midwest Region Gold Glove Team in 2010...He hit .349,led the Panthers with 48 RBIs and 13 doubles...R.J. was second on the team with 67 hits and tied for second with 47 runs...Knese hit four triples, three homers and stole 12 of 15 bases...He matched career high with five hits vs. Rockhust and matched a career high four RBIs in a game four times in 2010...Knese had four runs vs. Rockhurst and at Pittsburg State...He had a season high two stolen bases vs. Augustana and matched a career high with three walks vs. Arkansas Tech.
SOPHOMORE
Led DU with a .377 batting average and was 12th in the GLVC... His 77 hits was third in the GLVC and a .410 on base percentage was tops for DU...Was second on the team with a 45 runs, six triples and 100 total bases...His six triples ranked second in the GLVC behind teammate Joe Rohlfing...Stole 13 bases, had eight doubles and homered at Missouri S&T...Had three stolen bases at Missouri S&T...Had four three run games and had a pair of five hit games against Truman State and at Florida Tech...Had three RBIs in a game four times.
FRESHMAN
R.J. started 45 games as a freshman outfielder and catcher last season and was a third team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honoree...He hit .369 and had 66 hits, 33 runs, 31 RBIs, 12 walks, eight doubles, six stolen bases and three home runs...Had four hits against Quincy and four RBIs at SIU Edwardsville.
PREP...
Was a first team all-conference honoree at St. Mary's High School in High Ridge, Missouri for coach Marko Samardzic...Earned All-Decade House Springs Post 783 Legion...Named Best Defensive Infielder his junior season and was named MVP, best relief pitcher and best offensive player his senior season.
